Hello spring, you gorgeous season you! My favourite time of the year is here and I'm thrilled to kick the winter tights to the curb and indulge in new-season fashion and fresh beauty trends. The latest issue of Business Chicks Latte magazine celebrates spring over six fabulous pages (if I say so myself) of fashion, online shopping and beauty. And in my role of Fashion & Beauty Editor I hope you'll try to add some white to your wardrobe, a pair of white jeans is a must, or a touch of monochrome; and that you'll enjoy the new soft-smokey eye and nude nails. I chat to one of my favourite therapists about glycolic acid and seek out some of the best online shopping destinations so you can treat yourself at your desk. Plus I haven't forgotten race wear for those who love track-side style!

We are days away from spring and the September issues are hitting the shelves (cue insane spending on my favourite mags from around the globe). Throwing winter out the door, we truly didn't fare too badly, spring/summer collections are hurrying into stores and so our seasonal shopping list begins. Tweet-spotted in the September issue of Shop Til You Drop (p151) I claim white jeans as spring shopping list numero uno! I currently own three pairs and by no means feel this is adequate. There is a pair for every shape and size, you just have to believe in the power of the white jean...and the power of napisan and a trusty dynamo pen (you Virgos know exactly what I'm talking about).

Hats, or rather headbands, off to Lana Del Rey who has brought back the floral headband; but what has taken music festivals by storm isn't such a new trend after all and I got talking to The Daily Telegraph about the trend last Saturday (p18). From Frida Kahlo to the Lady of Shallot and the paintings of Romantic artist Rossetti, this botanical look is back pulling together some of our favourite trends of the season: colour, texture and florals, and the perfect foil for spring's colour of the moment 'white'. Big bold blooms suit a tousled hairstyle with smaller buds just the thing for braided up-do's. Let the headband do the talking with confidence an absolute necessity in this strong style statement that pushes the bloom boundaries of traditional racing/wedding head wear.

I think we've fared rather well fashionistas, don't you? I haven't pulled out the big guns when it comes to autumn winter yet but am secretly harboring thoughts of a cosy coat, scarf, beanie and mittens (not to mention boots galore!) And so to the latest issue of Business Chicks Latte magazine which has just landed with the best winter fashion finds and online shopping must-haves: the latter a new section that I hope readers will love as much as my credit card does! Quite the mixed-bag of a season there's texture, print and colour a plenty so play with contrasts and enjoy the resurgence of leopard print and leather plus make others green with envy thanks to Pantone's colour of the year, Emerald (PS. Gird your loins for sale season in a few weeks time).

Perhaps it's because I look down at them every day, but I can ashamedly say I love my hands. Long considered my best feature, I have my Great-Grandmother to thank - for I have been told that they are the splitting image of hers much to the shock of many family members on my father's side. I will admit that I probably take much better care of my hands than my face or hair but it's the ritualistic aspect of primping and preening that I love so much. And so, after many years of admiration from family and friends to complete strangers, I am embarking on the glamorous life of a hand model. From beauty to appliances, homewares to sporting goods, these hands soon hope to grace advertising and editorial images.

You've got to love Twitter: connecting fashionistas across the globe as they tweet recent purchases and style dilemmas. This is exactly how I met Wellington-based stylist, Sally-ann Moffat. We're still 'virtual' buddies but it's great to know I can recommend her savvy style services to clients travelling to New Zealand (and believe me, she's worked in all areas of the industry so is a true go-to girl). You can find Sally-ann hosting Style Session shows and Style Secrets Shopping Tours in her local Westfield, and styling for personal, photography and commercial clients. And her shopping secret? "Outside the CBD our nearby suburbs conceal some of the very best designer shopping experiences you can imagine. You just need to know where to look…."

This is one lady on my must-meet list. Introducing Andrea Tonkin, a Perth-based stylist who has made a chic home for herself at MYER Perth City. Armed with no formal training, Andrea proves that the best stylists have an innate sense of style, colour, proportion, balance; an all encompassing love of fashion and compassion for her clients. Known for rustling up the odd outfit from scratch, Andrea can also be found scouring op shops when not at her MYER post Tuesday through Friday. Citing Vivienne Westwood's quirky ethos, George Gross and Harry Who's classic design and Ellery's modern touch as inspiration, Andrea's personal style eclectic or as she says "like a Chameleon". Put this fabulous lady on speed dial to show you the ins and outs of west-side cool.

Another year and just as winter tightens its grip on our wardrobes the future spring/summer collections of Australasian designers are presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA). Attending in 2013 as personal stylist and writer, I'll be starting the week with Camilla and Marc and taking in the likes of Bec and Bridge, Manning Cartell, Kate Sylvester, Alice McCall, Michael Lo Sordo, Eastern Pearson and many more. I'll also be heading backstage to check out model preparations including hair and beauty looks that will act as a trigger for the season to come. Join me at fashion week across a host of social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, where I'll be posting my favourite looks from fashion's biggest week.

It is quite magical when two 'kindred' stylists meet: you feel you've know each other forever and can wax lyrical together about your favourite designers and industry gossip. Such is my relationship with Brisbane's Laura Stead who I luckily get to catch up with every time I return to Queensland for holiday. Only recently retiring as fashion editor of the Courier-Mail and Qweekend magazine, Laura's been styling for almost 10 years and now perfects her art on the masses at Westfield Chermside and through various freelance projects. An eclectic style, Laura cites Brisbane's milliners as her city's best kept secret - look our for Felicity Boevink, Meredith McMaster, Paula Walden and even the odd design from Stead herself. Well here we are again, autumn. I have to admit that I do love the cooler months...to live in that is, it's just the warmer months I cherish for holidays and days off. And so, as we bid a fond farewell to summer, stores around the country are filling their shelves with tailored, knitted and layered treats and I've picked the best of the first drops of the season for Business Chicks Latte magazine (p32 & 33). From block colour to leather, hounds tooth to vintage-inspired sparkles, we return to a more classic look this season where 'fit' is King. I'm looking forward to streamlining my wardrobe this autumn and returning to my favourite colour combination; black and navy, teamed with black boots for Frenchy chic.
